“The African Elephant’s Nest”
Kenya’s most visited park is the Amboseli National Parks, crowned by Africa’s tallest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. One of the best sites in Africa to get up close and personal with vast herds of elephants is Amboseli, named from a Maasai phrase meaning “salty dust.” Here, enthusiasts for the natural world can investigate five distinct environments: the desiccated floor of Lake Amboseli, marshes containing sulfur springs, woods, and savannah. In order to experience the genuine culture of the Maasai people who live in the park, they can also go see them.
